Featuring a Master Grade Torrefied Addy top and beautifully grained premium Mahogany back and sides, this dread is like a D-18 supercharged with top end shimmer, rich overtones, and incredible balance. While it handles the music you'd typically associate with vintage American acoustics effortlessly, the Canadian gem is sure to bring something new and exciting to your playing every time you pull it out of the case!
Our BG-42 is crafted and engineered to meet the very high requirements of bluegrass guitarists performing live or in the recording studio. Our guitars offer a large presence on stage due to the method of construction and choices of woods. The BG-42 is as “present” as all other bluegrass instruments whether you are strumming or soloing.
Robin Boucher personally selects Adirondack red spruce for the bracing and soundboard in order to give the instrument its special bluegrass sonority. Rich low ends, driving mids and beefy highs describe the sound spectrum of our Bluegrass Goose. This guitar is incredibly easy to play due to the elevated soundboard radius and the unique profile of the neck which will perfectly match the hand of the guitarist.
A few years back a wonderful man named Robin Boucher drove to Sound Pure studios all the way from Canada. In his back seat, nestled in lovely tweed cases, he had some of the finest acoustic guitars to ever cross our northern border. We became immediate friends and his work was mind-blowing. The clarity of the tone, the immaculate fit and finish, the effortless playability. To top it all off, Robin got his start as a WOOD DEALER. He happens to live in an Adirondack red spruce forest!
