Sonor Delite series drums are rarely seen here, but they are easily one of our favorite sets. They are about as close as you can come to acoustic perfection and the gorgeous birdseye veneer is just icing on the cake. This is a Stage 1 set which is here on consignment and is in excellent condition. The Stage 1 configuration has the larger drums making this perfect for rock or studio work.
The core of the Delite series is a spectrum of tone provided by their thin Vintage Maple shells with reinforcement rings. These provide an unmistakably open sound and an enormously wide tuning range for practically all styles of music.
Sonor’s Vintage Maple shell creates a warm tone that highlights the lower pitches and provides balance in the mid-range and treble, without sacrificing projection and power.
While the Sonor Delite series has been discontinued since 2013, the sound is as classic and timeless as ever.
Delite Series – The Sonor Delite Series is designed for the professional drummer with clear ideas about equipment, features, and sounds. These very ideas and experiences, along with the broad expertise at Sonor, are our main focus as we continue to develop and steadily optimize the Sonor Delite Series. The shell design, with its extremely thin and consequently very light vintage maple shells, make Sonor Delite sets an extremely welcome tour companion, a companion no drummer would wish to go without.
As one of the oldest drum companies in the world, Sonor brings quality craftsmanship the old fashioned way, by researching their instruments, and constructing them so that they are built to last. It is this pride and dedication that has led Sonor to become one of the premier names in percussion today. Sonor drums and hardware consistently receive top results in tests put on by leading drum and percussion publications. As a first in musical instruments, Sonor received the highest design award of Germany in 1994.
Known for their quality of sound as well as their build quality, Sonor is the choice for top-tier drummers such as Glenn Kotche of Wilco, Danny Carey of TOOL, Steve Smith of Journey, Benny Greb, Jojo Mayer of Nerve, Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree, Chris Coleman of Prince, Jack DeJohnette, and many more. Through all the achievements and endorsements, Sonor remains dedicated to consistently offering players with the best sound possible.
