Both early Turkish-made Ks and American Avedis Zildjians from the 1950s/1960s have become increasingly sought-out cymbals in recent times. All of the modern cymbal companies have their vintage-style lines and these Keropes are probably the closest yet.
These hand crafted cymbals look as they sound – rich, dark, and complex. Reminiscent of cymbals from the 50s and 60s yet distinctly modern and relevant for today’s music, Kerope cymbals further solidify Zildjian’s place as the originator of the authentic K sound. Highly crafted cymbals that draw their inspiration from the very best cymbals in the Zildjian vault. We carefully studied every nuance of decades-old cymbals -- their bells, profiles, hammering, lathing, tapers, and weights to achieve an old world look and sound being sought after by so many artists today.
The Avedis Zildjian Company, simply known as Zildjian is an American cymbal manufacturer based in Norwell Massachussetts. The company was founded in Constantinople by Armanian Avedis Zildjian in the 17th century, during the reign of the Ottoman empire. At nearly 400 years old, Zildjian is one of the oldest companies in the world. Zildjian also sells drum-related accessories, such as drum sticks and cymbal carriers. It is the largest cymbal manufacturer in the world.
