The OC616 is a professional multi-pattern large-diaphragm condenser microphone handcrafted in Vienna and engineered for creators who expect exceptional sound without compromise. At its core is the CKR12 capsule – the next evolution of the legendary CK12 brass capsule – preserving the open, detailed, and musical character that made the original a benchmark while benefiting from the consistency and reliability of modern ceramic engineering.
Built around Austrian Audio's Open Acoustic Technology, the OC616 minimizes internal reflections and acoustic interference before they ever reach the capsule. The result is a remarkably open, transparent, and realistic sound that captures every source with impressive depth, clarity, and precision while remaining honest and natural.
With five selectable polar patterns, three switchable high-pass filters, and two pads, the OC616 adapts effortlessly to virtually any recording environment. It performs equally well on vocals, voice-over, acoustic instruments, guitar and bass amplifiers, drum overheads, brass sections, room microphones, stereo recording techniques including Mid/Side, and demanding live productions.
Its outstanding 157 dB maximum SPL and 134 dB dynamic range allow the OC616 to capture everything from the finest musical nuance to the highest sound pressure levels with exceptional accuracy and control.
