Black Lion Audio Hot-Rodded CV-12

The Avantone CV-12 tube driven, large diaphragm condenser mic has become an indispensable element in world-renowned studios and home set ups alike, due to an unheard-of combination of quality, durability, and value. Ongoing development of audio solutions that meet or beat “industry standard” expectations, is the core of Avantone culture.

The CV-12/BLA is a joint effort between Avantone and Black Lion Audio*, that unlocks the full potential of the amazing CV-12. A completely overhauled circuit utilizes a Solen Fastcap coupler and “CK” style 34mm capsule. The new power supply has more filtering, lower signal to noise ratio, and greater headroom.

The result of the BLA makeover, is a CV-12 without the slight upper midrange hump, and greater headroom. High’s sound sweeter, lows more present with increased balance, natural sound reproduction and far greater versatility.

The CV12 BLA remains a top contender as a world class primary vocal mic. Its expanded versatility makes the CV-BLA also a top choice for use with Drum sets, Acoustic Piano, Mandolin, Brass, Winds, and even close miking a guitar cab. Avantone and BLA have created a high-quality tube condenser mic, that is ready for anything.
