From DPA Microphones (Bruel & Kjaer)
DPK2015 is an out-of-the-box miking solution that takes a minute to install and ensures that the true voice of the piano shines. By bundling components and specifying a workflow, this kit is a turnkey stereo solution for piano miking.
The DPK2015 is designed for versatile mounting: inside or outside the piano, lid open or closed.
This is a complete stereo kit featuring two 2015 Wide Cardioid Microphones. The mics are carefully selected within ±1 dB sensitivity @1 kHz.
DPK2015 is often described by professional sound engineers as slightly “sweeter” with excellent blend, a natural stereo image and a surprisingly full sound in several placements. Due to the wide pick-up pattern, it is valued for its fast and easy yet flexible mounting solution.
Signature DPA sound – transparent and detailed, with high fidelity
Wide cardioid pickup pattern – homogeneous stereo perspective and ease of placement compared to the narrower cardioid or supercardioid alternatives
Fast, flexible mounting – for live touring or studio work; inside or outside grand piano, lid open or closed
Compact protective case – designed for intuitive and fast setup
Shock-isolation and vibration control via included mounts – keeping stability and reducing unwanted structure borne noise
What’s included in the box?
2 × 2015 Wide Cardioid Microphones (selected stereo pair)
2 × GM1500 Gooseneck Mount
2 × DAO2015 Microphone Cable with XLR
1 × SBO400 Lightweight Stereo Boom

Protective carrying case
Although the DPK2015 Piano Stereo Kit is designed specifically for grand piano, 2015 Wide Cardioid Microphones are highly versatile and can be used effectively on many other instruments and ensembles. The stereo pair performs particularly well on full drum kits (as overheads), horn sections, vibraphones, xylophones, large marimbas and other wide acoustic sources — providing excellent imaging and a natural, balanced sound.
2015 Wide Cardioid Microphone
The 2015 Wide Cardioid Microphone’s wider pick-up pattern offers an innovative way to pick up the spacious and natural sound of larger instruments or groups of instruments. When recording instrument groups with complex radiation patterns, the wide cardioid design covers a greater sound angle. The 2015s compact design, combined with its wide pickup area makes it an unobtrusive solution for live stage placement.
