The Epiphone Casino is a timeless hollowbody that delivers warm, airy resonance with unmistakable vintage character. Its layered maple construction produces a lively, open voice, while the dual P-90 pickups offer rich clarity, smooth mids, and a touch of grit when pushed. The SlimTaper 60s C mahogany neck and laurel fingerboard provide a fast, comfortable feel that invites effortless playing across styles. Lightweight and responsive, it feels as good as it sounds. With its classic archtop design and expressive tonal range, this Casino is an inspiring, dependable instrument and a smart long-term investment for players chasing iconic tone!
Since 1961, the legendary Casino™ has been Epiphone’s best-selling archtop and a rock ‘n’ roll standard. First introduced in 1961, the Casino was just one of several new thinline archtops designed and produced at the company’s adopted new factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan that it shared with one-time competitor and new partner, Gibson. The Casino was adopted by Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones who used a Casino to record the demo for “Satisfaction” at Chess Records in Chicago. Howlin' Wolf took a Casino on his first tour of the UK, appearing on Thank Your Lucky Stars. Shortly afterward, John Lennon and George Harrison bought Casinos for the Beatles' 1966 world tour.
Today's Gibson electric guitars represent the history as well as the future of the electric guitar. The models whose designs have become classics-the ES-175, ES-335, Flying V, Explorer, Firebird, SGs and Les Pauls-are a testament to Gibson's wide appeal, spanning more than four decades of music styles. Gibson's close relationship with musicians is manifest in endorsement models from King, Atkins and jazz greats Howard Roberts and Herb Ellis, plus new Les Pauls made to the personal specifications of rock stars Jimmy Page and Joe Perry. In 1994, Gibson's Centennial year, the new Nighthawk model won an industry award for design, setting the stage for a second hundred years of Gibson quality and innovation.
