Tuning

This Goodall Baritone guitar can be tuned a variety of ways.  We prefer one whole-step lower than standard tuning, making the lowest string a D. Add a capo at the 2nd fret and you’re in standard tuning. With slightly heavier custom gauge strings it can be pitched as low as a B.

Appearance

This is one of the nicest baritone guitars we’ve ever seen.  This guitar has Honduran Mahogany Back and Sides and a AAA Bearclaw Sitka Spruce Top. We especially like the bear claw aspect of this guitars top.  It gives the guitar a gnarled look that sets it apart from the average spruce top.

Overtones

Goodall must have a magic formula for overtones.  This guitar, like all Goodall guitars,  produces tons of overtones. Hearing these tones over the clear low end notes is a euphoric experience for your ears.  You won’t want to put this guitar down and it will amaze traditional dreadnought players with it’s unbelievably clear, low voicing.

The Baritone includes a neck which has 14 frets clear to the body and a 28 inch string scale. With regular medium gauge strings they can be tuned one whole step down to D-G-C-F-A-D and drop tuned from there. Add a capo at the 2nd fret and it's a regular guitar. With slightly heavier custom gauge strings it can be pitched as low as say B, etc.
