The Earthworks 1021, 1022, and 1024 Zero Distortion Preamps are completely free of noise and distortion, and are really a lot like "wire and gain." Such transparency, accuracy and detail in a mic preamp are extremely useful when the sound of the instrument coupled with an amazing microphone should not be compromised. The Earthworks preamp will not add its own coloration and artifacts like just about every other preamp on the market. It is designed to delver the sound coming out of the microphone exactly that way, as if there is no preamp in the signal path whatsoever. In this video we demonstrate this performance through a variety of microphones and sources including recording acoustic guitar, piano, jazz archtop guitar, and electric guitars. Give us a call to discuss this amazing distortion-free preamp, toll free 888.528.9703.

Telefunken AR51 tube microphones beautifully record acoustic guitars with warmth and smoothness in the midrange, a nice tight bottom-end, and an open and brilliant top. In the first segment the mic on the right was placed near the 12th fret of the guitar and the microphone on the left was placed over the guitarist right shoulder. This approach creates a very large and balanced stereo image. As you can hear, these mics are warm and very pleasing in the mid range and articulate in the top end without being overly bright. You will then hear a studio recording of a stereo pair of the Telefunken AR51's on a Martin HD28. In this setup we hear more body from the acoustic due to the placement of the the mics than we did in the previous example, nicely displaying the versatility of the Telefunken AR51's in the recording studios. http://www.soundpure.com/p/earthworks...The Earthworks PM40 Piano Mic system is the easiest way to achieve a world class piano recording whether or not the piano lid is up or down. Whether you are recording a Yamaha C7, or a Steinway Grand Piano, or any other grand piano, it will provide you the sound and tone of the instrument that you put in front of it with dazzling accuracy. It has incredible detail, and exhibits no proximity effect, even when positioned directly over the strings, regardless of the positioning of the lid. You can have outstanding isolation from other instruments with the lid down, even in live concert piano performance, but the Earthworks PianoMic system can also deliver audiophile quality piano recordings in studios, with the lid up. Because of the neutral and natural sound of these microphones they also take wonderfully well to any kind of preamp coloration, EQ, compression, or Reverb that you want to throw at it. The ZDT preamplifier series is based on discrete circuitry designed by David Blackmer, establishing a new standard of sonic excellence in electronics. This exacting new standard provides frequency response from 1Hz to 200kHz +0.5dB, a rise time of 0.27 microseconds and distortion of less than 1 part per million (0.0001%), eliminating all possibility of sonic degradation. These preamps are so fast, so clean and so transparent that you don’t even know they are there. It is like plugging your microphone into a “piece of wire with gain”. You will hear clarity and detail with the ZDT preamps that is not available in any other preamp at any price.

·         Zero Distortion – less than one part per million

·         High output level +33dBu
