Sound Pure's Take

Admittedly, we used to be skeptics about this product, and it has changed our viewpoint and our world. While we are still convinced that there is tremendous value in the great convolution plug-in based reverbs being built by companies like AudioEase (Altiverb), and McDSP, immediately upon listening to this unit, it set us straight: hard-ware based reverbs are here to say for the foreseeable future. There is simply no cost effective way to recreate the literally awesome processing power required in the Bricasti M7 in a plug-in. Given this fact, we are in the process of begging, borrowing, stealing, and scraping pennies to get an M7 for our in-house professional recording studios. There is no substitute for the special realism that this incredible hardware processor creates. If you are serious about having the best-quality and most authentic-sounding spatial reverbs available, you must purchase a Bricasti M7, as we here decided that we had to do!

We have found that in the current world of shrinking live rooms and recording environments, Bricasti has created a timely release of a product that is extremely necessary in creating the utmost in spatial realism from dry or close-mic situation. Don't continue "forcing" unnatural reverb sounds onto your recordings any longer, and pickup this Bricasti. You'll wish you had bought it sooner, just like we did.

Against all odds, Bricasti Design has emerged with a truly earth-shattering, flagship, modern-reverb processor at a very reasonable price for what you get. The company is founded and run by former Lexicon designers who broke away with the drive and vision to take Reverb to another level. While there are skeptics everywhere who feel that the days of hardware reverbs are behind us giving way to plug-in only solutions, Bricasti has proven that such a thought couldn't be further from the truth. The amount of sheer processing power in their flagship Model 7 (the equivalent of 5 x Pro Tools Accel Cards), has proven that these new Reverb algorithms aren't going to shop up (or even be replicable) in computer based DAW's in the foreseeable future. If you want to achieve the most natural sounding, impressive, and cutting-edge natural spaces and reverbs, look no further than Bricasti.

Several reverbs are toggled through utilizing the amazing Bricasti M7 Reverb Processor on a set of drums recorded with an extremely simple set of microphones. The M7 is the world-shaking new reverb processor that has proven among the top recording engineers and record producers in the world as THE ultimate choice for natural sounding acoustic spaces, and non-artifact reverbs that simply to not possess the typical smearing, muddiness, and phase problems you come to hear even in today's top and most sought-after reverbs. The natural decays that the Bricasti creates is the equivalent of having truly world class spaces and truly world class microphones. The spaces are produces with wonderful realism and accuracy, and the resulting combined product of direct dry recording plus reverb does not come at the expense as is typically the case with even the finest legacy reverbs in the world. Great convolution products by Altiverb, Lexicon, Eventide, TC Electronic, and others, simply cannot compare in the way that they handle natural spaces, transient information, detail, and overall acoustic space realism. There is a reason that the top engineers in the world are turning towards the Bricasti for these reasons, and there's good reason that Sound Pure Studios owns the Bricast themselves and use it on session work every day. Call us at Sound Pure to discuss the way that we use our M7 and see if it is right for your studio. The Bricasti M7 Reverb is discussed at great length. The discussion includes common Reverb related Myths that don't exist in real world environments, and common problems associated with legacy reverb units that have been solved. The continuation of white noise and hiss that is a direct by-product of poor reverb algorithms simply does not exist in the real world, nor does it exist on the simply astonishing algorithms encompassed into the Bricast M7 Reverb unit. The Bricasti Version 1 (first chip), which by the way is upgradeable at no charge to Version 1 owners to VErsion 2, was designed to address common reverb problems with past reverbs, even the great convolution reverbs made by Altiverb, Lexicon, Sony, and others, by creating the most natural sounding true-to-life spaces ever created out of an artificial digital reverb. They are truly mind-blowing. Other myths such as the artificial modulation that totally exceeds realism in some of the great reverbs of the past like the Lexicon 480 and Lexicon, and certainly in the less expensive Lexicon PCM models, are simply overcome. Unstable images, ackward modulation, and the extensive muddiness associated with every other reverb is simply cast away with the pure reverb sounds from the M7. Version 1 was focused on owning the space of natural acoustic sounds and realistic acoustic spaces, and succeeded. Virtually every engineer that has heard the M7 and that can financially afford one is adding it to his rig as a truly indispensable tool. While other reverb tails often sour, but most assuredly do not preserve the realism into the longer tails, the Bricasti does not have this problem. The Bricasti will dynamically and actively resample and recycle into its algorithm sounds from as early as 30 (or even 60) seconds earlier on its longest reverbs, the biproduct of which is wonderful details preserved, and transparency maintained in what prove to be remarkably truthful creations of reverb, even in the longest reverb tails. We use our Bricasti M7 every day in our studios, and one of our engineers or sales experts would be glad to discuss with you whether or not they make sense for your particular needs. Please give us at Sound Pure a call toll free at 888-528-9703.
